Ocular emergencies in optometry practice
Ocular emergencies in optometry are often a reason for concern for optometrists. Will you spot them on time, and if you do find something that needs urgent care, how do you go about it? When do you really press the ’emergency button’ and when can you calm down and take more time? Our panel members are from different backgrounds, and give their views on how to provide better and more adequate patient care in these cases:
- Marko Lukic, Locum Consultant Ophthalmologist at Moorfields Eye Hospital, London, UK
- Danson V. Muttuvelu, Senior Consultant Ophthalmic Surgeon, Denmark
- Niels Crama, Ophthalmologist, Vitreoretinal Surgeon at Radboudumc, the Netherlands
- Svein Tindlund, Optometrist, Head of Clinical Performance at Specsavers
This session took place live on 4 October 2021, during Clinical Conference.
