Retinal biomarkers for early Alzheimer’s detection: a systematic review of optical coherence tomography (OCT) findings
This article, published in BMJ Open Ophthalmology, states that spectral domain OCT and angio OCT might play a role in the future diagnosis of Alzheimer’s disease.
The conclusion is based on a review of 22 published studies, suggesting that this may be a valuable approach – however, the technology and testing protocols are not ready.
