Henri Ruutala

Dr. Henri Ruutala is a Consultant Ophthalmologist, high-volume cataract surgeon, and Head Physician of the Emergency Eye Clinic at Helsinki University Hospital (HUS) Eye Hospital. As the senior emergency consultant, he manages complex emergency cases and eye trauma surgery. His work also includes reviewing a high volume of referrals each week, giving him extensive experience in assessing referrals and prioritising patients with complex eye conditions.

Alongside his clinical work, Dr. Ruutala is also a university Clinical Instructor, committed to advancing ophthalmic education and the quality of patient care. He focuses on training eye care professionals to enhance referral standards and navigate complex clinical decisions safely.
