Marika Wahlberg Ramsay

Marika Wahlberg Ramsay is Programme Director for the optometry programmes at Karolinska Institutet, a role she has held since 2016. Having worked at the university since 2005, she combines teaching, research, and leadership as a unit manager with a strong commitment to optometric education and professional development.

In addition, Marika is a member of the visiting panel for the European Council of Optometry and Optics, contributing to the review and quality assurance of optometry education programmes across Europe. Her work is informed by 11 years of clinical experience in an eye emergency department, where she developed broad expertise in vision problems and acute eye conditions.
